Disability as a Risk Factor

Persons with mental or physical disabilities have a higher rate of being groomed for trafficking and for being trafficked due to real or perceived vulnerabilities. Worse, the social isolation such people often suffer makes them additionally vulnerable to being manipulated and shamed -- therefore controlled by traffickers.
